Jen Heck | Steamboat Pictures

Jen Heck is an American writer/director best known for her award-winning films, which have appeared at the Whitney Biennial, and at major film festivals including the Sundance Film Festival, the São Paulo International Film Festival, the Palm Springs International Film Festival, and the Hamptons International Film Festival. She has filmed documentaries from Mount Everest to the West Bank, often operating the camera while directing in remote, dangerous locations. She holds a BFA in Film from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, and an MFA in Directing from Columbia University.

In addition to her films, Ms. Heck has produced and directed unscripted television including MTV’s 16 & Pregnant, Teen Mom, and HGTV’s House Hunters International.

She is currently in pre-production on a documentary about Prince with co-executive producers Mayte Garcia and Van Jones, and is in development on documentary about the 1984 Great Adventure fire.
